On all our wedding photography assignments we offer all our brides an asian bridal photography training session. We see this as a key aspect of our work, where we work with the bride to help her develop and build her photography posing style that truly reflects her character and personality.  Thus making her ready for her wedding photography shoot.

This is an important element of our work since it puts the bride in control of how she wants to appear in her photographs with very little direction from the photographer.

We always get asked by clients why some asian wedding albums more expensive than others and what makes them different?  The answer is not as straight forward as one would like it to be.  

These shoots are a fun and exciting events, orchestrated in a way to truly show the couple’s relationship. The pre wedding gallery further illustrates this and as you can see there is lots of energy in these photographs.

We have done lots of pre wedding photography and our approach is focused around the relationship between the couples’ and do not see doing our photography of one where the couple is walking hand in hand in a park.

Lot of the information here also applies to brides all different shapes and sizes. Some of these points are also addressed during our bridal training sessions. In respect of asian weddings the key point to remember is that your wedding dress is going to be heavy and it will need to the appropriate supports.  There have been stories where wedding dresses started to come off during the wedding ceremony, which is very embarrassing for the bride and everyone....

Over the last twenty years we have come across number of brides and have to say the biggest let down we see is their make up. Some brides are naturally pretty and they know it, yet on the day of their wedding they forget that they are putting make up on and its here where they completely mess things are up.  This is particularly important to stress for asian weddings, where brides are wearing make up which is quite heavy and saturated....

As part of the pre wedding shoot I normally find couples for the first time struggling to get into posing and giving the look they really want.

I always provide the following advice to all my clients –

• Learn to pose – look at asian fashion magazines and asian bridal magazines see how the professional models pose. See if you can emulate a look that is truly YOU. Remember you are not wearing western clothes and wearing asian clothing everyday,

Photographers’ fees vary according to their experience. A better-established asian wedding photographer is going to charge more.

The good thing is that asian weddings start from around 7am with the bride getting ready and ends when the bride and the groom have departed, which is twelve hours later.  The whole event, the asian wedding ceremony and the reception are normally held on the same day.  Therefore there is no set package as in European weddings where one would quote separately for the morning bride getting ready session and then the wedding reception.

Photography is the most important aspect of your event. If you select the wrong asian wedding photographer you will live to regret it for the rest of your life. Even if you have insurance to cover the eventuality of lost or damaged photographs – a re-shoot of the day in a simulated environment is no substitute for the actual event.

Therefore consider carefully the person you choose to photograph and video your wedding.

Nowadays digital cameras have become so popular that almost everyone feels that they can take brilliant pictures.

We always advise our clients that they should start choosing their asian wedding photographer immediately after they have announced their engagement.  There are number of reasons for this –

I have noticed a plethora of activity in respect of people uploading and sharing photos on social networking websites. On Facebook when I login, straight away I see, “so and so” was tagged in “so and so” photo in “so and so” place.  Surprisingly lots of south asian girls are tagging and have moved away from the tradition of keeping themselves modest and low key.  So what’s in store as a result?
